Title: Just a Plain and Simple Chapel
Comments: This is a chapel built by Italian prisoners of War during World War II. It stands nowadays in the middle of a big field a few miles from Hereford, but 65 years ago it lay at the heart of a POW camp that housed almost 4,000 Italian prisoners. Some were skilled Italian artisans who built this simple chapel as a memorial to fallen comrades. It is well maintained and stands as a lasting reminder that sworn enemies can become friends.
