Title: Every Window is a Story
Comments: What is it about windows? Why am I obsessed with them? Is there something in the way they edit the world by cutting away a lot of it but letting some of it in? Or how light passes through an old blue bottle on a windowsill, or how screens pixelate the world? The framing of reality. I photograph them to pull at the edges, to examine right angles. What is in there, just beyond what we can see? To photograph a window is to examine the rectangle. To challenge it. To reflect what many assume to be there without knowing with certainty. I want to photograph something that is presumed to be unphotographable.
A photo is a window. It arranges the world according to the whim of the photographer, who lives outside its edges, outside its margins. There is always the unseen and the unseeable and the mystery of what lies just beyond.
